Shikha Jain, MD FACP

Founder and President of the Women in Medicine®

Dr. Shikha Jain is a board-certified hematology and oncology physician. She is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She is the Director of Communications Strategies in Medicine and the Associate Director of Oncology Communication and Digital Innovation for the University of Illinois Cancer Center. Dr. Jain is the CEO and Co-Founder of the action, advocacy and amplification organization IMPACT and Founder and President of the Women in Medicine Summit and non profit organization. Dr. Jain was named one of Medscapes 25 Rising Stars in Medicine in 2020, one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Emerging Leaders in 2019, and was also awarded the Rising Star award by the LEAD Oncology Conference in 2019.

She is a nationally renowned speaker and has written for several national publications including CNN, USA Today, Scientific American, The Hill, US News, the Chicago Tribune, Physician’s Weekly, Doximity, KevinMD and has been interviewed in the New York Times and Time magazine. She is a regular contributor to FOX 32 and has also been a guest on CBS Yahoo Finance, ABC7 and WGN.

Dr. Jain speaks on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, leadership, gender equity and inequities in healthcare, public health messaging and communication strategies, the utility of social media in healthcare communication, social media strategies, branding, impostor phenomenon, COVID19, oncology, GI oncology, neuroendocrine tumors, immunotherapy, the doctor patient relationship, mentorship and sponsorship, and many other topics related to medicine. She is a sought after keynote speaker and active researchers and clinician.

Ankita Sagar, MD

Dr. Sagar is an academic primary care physician and leader with expertise in quality and process improvement, clinical program building, healthcare management, and delivery of healthcare. Her current role is Director of Ambulatory Quality for Medicine Service Line and she has an expertise in clinical program building to standardize clinical quality, align performance with national benchmarks, and promote use of evidence-based medicine to improve patient health outcomes and physician experience.

She currently serves as the Director of COVID Ambulatory Resource Support (CARES) – a program recognized for improving access to coordinated, comprehensive care for patients in the outpatient setting with COVID-19 infection and Post Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC). Currently this program has over 4000 patients across the geographic footprint of Northwell Health.

Dr. Sagar has gained national recognition in the areas of public policy, advocacy, amplification of women in medicine, and physician well-being. For her work in these areas, she was recently awarded the Salzman Award for Innovation and Quality of Care as well as the Laureate Award from NY Chapter of American College Physicians
